Starting in September 2010 I was a recent college graduate with a Finance degree from Providence College and a need to find a job in what was still a pretty tough economy post the 2008 housing crisis. The very first job at the Nassau County Comptroller’s Office wasn’t in Benefits, it was basically Accounts Payable. I would get invoices from vendors that the County contracted with, review the contract against the invoice, ensure everything added up and approve payment. That went on for a while before I heard about an opening down the hall on the Benefits team. I jumped at the chance and haven’t looked back! Between 8 years at Nassau County and now 5 at a large professional services firm, I have been blessed to have challenging, rewarding work and some great bosses along the way. I’ve worked in a few different areas within Benefits over the years, including Leave and Disability (never boring!) but the bulk of my time has been spent working with Health & Welfare/Wellbeing benefits. My current role focuses on managing several programs in the wellbeing space, so, as I often do when I’m new to an area, I dove head first into all things wellbeing. This is the next step in that process of learning and growing for me. I’m also a son, husband and father of two.
