Studies Show…

Whether you are in a position that manages the wellbeing platform or a decision maker that gets asked about doing things like step challenges and other physical activity initiatives in your organization, know that a recent study showed that physical activity programs made a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing of those that were active participants. Maybe you already knew that, or at least it makes sense to you when you hear the outcome of that study. While mental health has become a big focus in the world at large the importance of physical activity shouldn’t be lost in the shuffle or forgotten about. There are the obvious benefits from doing physical activity like weight loss or muscle building. But something that I think needs to be realized more cogently is improving mental health isn’t limited to efforts with the mind. We are one connected body. What helps the physical body also helps the mental health.

Next time you are looking to do a step challenge or some other physical activity and you need some help to make a business case you can point to this study (there are many others like it) to help get the ball over the finish line.
